2009 Eli Lilly Scholar -- Carrine Johnson
Carrine Johnson, a senior at Palos Verdes Peninsula High, won this scholarship. She used it to help pay for her college education at Massachusetts Institute of Technology!
"Thank you for selecting me as one of the two winners ... I am very excited about winning this scholarship! It will be extremely useful" said Carrine Johnson.

Part of the application process was an essay that answers the question 'Why is Information Technology Important'.

Our Past Eli Lilly Scholars include Leslie Vasquez, a graduating senior at Pike High School and Gerardo 'Jerry' Dominguez, a Chicago State University senior majoring in Management Information Systems.

The BDPA Education and Technology Foundation (BETF) still seeks applications for any graduating high school student or current college student interested in the 2014 Eli Lilly and Company Scholarship for BDPA Students!

The purpose of the Lilly/BDPA Scholarship is to recognize outstanding minority students, with an interest in information technology, who make significant contributions to society. Applicants must excel academically, show exceptional leadership potential, and make an impact on their communities through service to others.

Lilly/BDPA Scholars will be awarded a one-time $5,000 scholarship that may be used to pursue an information technology focused degree at an accredited four-year college or university of their choice.

Scholarships will be awarded only to students who fully meet the scholarship requirements. All application materials must be RECEIVED on or before June 30, 2014 in order to be eligible. Incomplete, e-mailed or faxed applications will not be considered!

BETF offers a number of scholarships... BDPA Education & Technology Foundation's Scholarship Program supports development of the best and brightest future information technology professionals worldwide through learning opportunities.

We established our scholarship program to stimulate the interest of young people in the fields of science and technology, areas where youth from under-served communities are seriously underrepresented.  Our scholarships assist students in obtaining degrees from accredited institutions of high learning in the fields of computer science, mathematics and information technology related field.

The program is open to any student that participates in our Student Information Technology & Scholarship (SITES) program.
